Wild Bird Checklists

The purpose of these checklists are to help you identify what species of wild birds are in various areas of the United States. The checklists are broken down in 10 categories. These categories are:

Birds of Prey
Ducks & Miscellaneous Swimming Birds
Fowl-like Birds
Long-Legged Wading Birds
Nonpasserine Land Birds

Passerine (Perching) Birds
Seabirds & Gulls
Smaller Wading Birds
Accidental Species
Endangered/Extinct/Threatened Species

The downloadable checklists are broken down into the same categories, but combined for easy download. These categories are:

Birds of Prey
Ducks, Seabirds, Wading & Swimming Birds
Nonpasserine Land Birds
Passerine (Perching) Birds

The checklists are intended to be taken to the field and written on which can then be transferred to your Life List database, notebook, field guide or just kept in a binder. Accidental and Endangered/Extinct/Threatened Species are missing from the downloadable checklists, but, if spotted, can be written on the checklists.

All downloadable checklists are in Adobe Acrobat PDF format which can be viewed and/or printed with the Acrobat Reader.

Definition of Terms:

Endangered	Species in imminent danger of extinction throughout their range
Extinct	Species that once existed but no longer exist across their entire range
Threatened	Species that may become endangered within the forseeable future
